Momiji, matsu, and maki (maple, pine and yew)

Warrior and Tea Master Hosokawa’s shrine.
 
This hollowed out stone basin next to the tea house was brought from the Imperial Palace in Korea by Hosakawa during the wars.
 
There are two famous tea houses here, Shoko-ken and Horai.

This, like many Japanese gardens, comes alive in a rain.  Unfortunately, photos are too dark and ruined by flash.
 
There is a greater variety of plantings in this garden than in most gardens of the Kyoto area.
 
Once again, the picture is too dark, but the view must be shared!
